ABSTRACT: Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the influence of lesion preparation using the dual wire scoring balloon on stent expansion and long-term outcomes. Methods: Forty-six consecutive de novo lesions treated with a single >2.5 mm drug-eluting stent under intravascular ultrasound guidance, using two implantation strategies, were randomly assigned to: 1) pre-dilation with a non-compliant balloon (NC group; n = 23) or 2) pre-dilation with a dual wire scoring balloon (DS group; n = 23).
