Special Issue on Science Education
Science education,
as an academic discipline, concerns the systematic study and practice of
teaching and learning scientific knowledge. It explores the most effective ways
to impart scientific concepts, methods, and processes to students, emphasizing
hands-on experimentation, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The field
also examines the role of science education in promoting scientific literacy,
fostering curiosity, and enabling students to make informed decisions about
scientific issues in their daily lives. Science Education researchers strive to
understand how students learn science, how teachers can best facilitate this
learning, and how science education policies and practices can be improved to
enhance student outcomes and contribute to the overall development of a
scientifically literate society.
