ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the perceived stigma and future life perception of children living in care facilities, shedding light on their experiences and ambitions. Employing a qualitative case study research design, this research explores the lives of four children living in a care facility, ages fourteen to sixteen years old, chosen through purposive sampling. Through in-depth interviews, the research uncovers the perceived stigma these children face, stemming from their past experiences and influencing their present sense of self-worth. The findings reveal a common thread of low self-esteem among the participants in their past experiences. Moreover, the study highlights the profound impact of perceived stigma on their daily lives. Despite struggling with these challenges, the children in care facilities demonstrate remarkable resilience and determination when it comes to envisioning their futures. Despite the odds stacked against them, they possess aspirations of completing their education and securing stable employment. Their determination provides witness to their strength and resilience in the face of difficulty. This study underscores the importance of fostering supportive environments that nurture their dreams and empower them to realize their full potential, despite the perceived stigma they encounter.
