ABSTRACT: The economic vitality of a city is an important factor in the ranking of
a city’s competitiveness. Based on the research of Lou Haimiao, Sun Qiubi and other scholars, this paper selects 10 indicators as indicators of urban economic vitality evaluation, and uses factor analysis to comprehensively evaluate
the urban agglomerations in the Yangtze River Economic Zone. Using SPSS
software to calculate the ranking of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze
River Economic Zone, the research shows that the economic vitality of the Yangtze
River Economic Zone gradually decreases from east to west. After analyzing the
influencing factors of the economic vitality and competitiveness of the urban
agglomerations in the Yangtze River Economic Belt through the gray correlation
analysis model, the research results show that among the provinces and cities in the
Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt, the number of business units has the
greatest impact on the economic vitality and competitiveness of the city.
Finally, it puts forward economic development suggestions for 11 provinces and
cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
