Abstract: |
Nowadays, multi-core processor SoC (system-onchip) becomes more and more popular in embedded systems due to the high performance and low power consumption, and this trend brings revolutions of embedded software. It is a huge challenge for programmers to use the processors more effectively to gain higher performance. This paper describes a novel embedded multi-core processor named Virgo, which is composed of a high performance RISC host processor, a synergistic processor and other accelerators, then designs a new hybrid parallel software model mixed shared memory model and message passing model for this novel architecture. Solutions of some detail problems and results of experiments are also discussed in this paper.
