In this paper, a layout redesign case study from a rare-earth metal factory is presented by applying systematic layout planning(SLP) method．The relation graph for all workshops in the company is obtained by analyzing the material and non-material flows. The purpose is seeking the best solutions for the least logistics strength under the premise of process requirements and making full use of the original buildings and the land. This study is a good example of practical application of the method of the logistics facilities planning. It is useful for the application of this practice.
