Abstract:

Learners vary enormously in how successful they can learn a second language. Broadly speaking, three different sets of decisive factors have been identified, which are social, cognitive and affective factors. This essay will consider only those affective factors that lie inside the learners and their individual propensities for second language learning. Hopefully, based on the research, we can give some suggestions on teaching pedagogy for a second language classroom.
