This paper studied the ecological protection in rural land consolidation. Rural land consolidation has become one of society focuses at present, because it plays an important role in keeping dynamic balance of cultivated land. It is relatively common that pay much more attention to economic and social benefits but neglected land ecological protection in the current practice in rural land consolidation in China. It is pointed that the main reasons of that include the followings: weak environmental awareness, lag theory, management system defects and the chaos in practice work. It is pointed that institutional building and technical measures should be taken to strengthen ecological protection in the rural land consolidation based on the situation.
