Abstract: Through the comparison of blast furnace coke and tuyere coke, as well as the analysis of alkali absorption ability of BF coke, it is known that the main reason for blast wandering and coke rate rising is the circulating enrichment of alkali metals in blast furnace. Weight loss changes, the starting temperature and violent temperature in solution loss reaction of coke, immersed into different concentrations of K2CO3 solutions or not, are studied. Results show that alkali metals catalyze the coke solution loss reaction, and the greatly influence of alkali metals on thermal properties of coke is further proved.
