Abstract: Samarium doped ceria (SDC)electrolytes were prepared by a citrate method. The effects of different PH on the phase structure ,morphology and granularity were observed by XRD ,SEM and Laser particle size analyzer. Compared with PH=2, the SDC powders prepared in PH=8 had a finer grain size, better dispersion and higher activity. Composite electrolytes were formed by the SDC powders and carbonate, the single cells based on the composite electrolytes were prepared by molding method and the performances of hydrogen/air fuel cells were evaluated, the single cells had the maximum power density 438.1mW/cm2 at 650 ℃.
