Special Issue on
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is a
chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by infection with the
human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which progressively damages the immune
system—particularly CD4+ T lymphocytes—thereby weakening the body’s ability to
fight infections and diseases. As the disease advances, individuals become
increasingly susceptible to opportunistic infections, malignancies, and
systemic complications. AIDS represents the most advanced stage of HIV
infection and is characterized by severe immune suppression and the occurrence
of specific clinical conditions. Although there is currently no definitive
cure, the widespread use of antiretroviral therapy (ART) has significantly
improved life expectancy, reduced transmission rates, and transformed HIV/AIDS
into a manageable chronic condition with appropriate medical care.
In this
special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit
original research and review articles on exploring Acquired
Immunodeficiency Syndrome. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Antiretroviral pharmacology
-
Clinical manifestations
-
Diagnostic technologies
-
Epidemiology
-
HIV and co-infections
-
HIV drug resistance
-
HIV virology
-
HIV-associated malignancies
-
Immunopathogenesis
-
Maternal and pediatric HIV
-
Neurological complications
-
Opportunistic infections
-
Prevention strategies
-
Psychosocial and behavioral studies
-

Authors
should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please
