ABSTRACT: Endometrial cancer is one of the most common gynecological malignancies in the female reproductive system. Its incidence has been increasing year by year and it is gradually affecting younger women, posing a serious threat to women’s health. In recent years, ferroptosis has become a hot topic in cancer research. Ferroptosis is an iron-ion-dependent programmed regulatory mode that participates in a series of pathophysiological processes under the regulation of mechanisms such as iron metabolism, amino acid metabolism, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and glutathione redox. Studies have shown that ferroptosis plays a certain role in the occurrence, development, and treatment of endometrial cancer. This article will review the basic mechanisms of ferroptosis and its research progress in endometrial cancer.
