ABSTRACT: Electrochemical polymerization of 4,4’-dimethyl-2,2’-bithiophene (4DMBT) was carried out in a concentrated solution of hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) liquid crystal in N,N-dimethylformamide. Infrared absorption spectra suggested that the resultant polymer film contains HPC. This study demonstrates an electrochemical preparation of a polymer composite having liquid crystal order. We proposed a helical stacking composite model.
