ABSTRACT: In general, history, structure and life in the German military bases in France during the period of
the Occupation are not well known because of the past military secrecy and the present lack of
surviving witnesses and relevant documentation. However, in the case of the German base at
Mûrs-Erigné, much information is now available through the researches of Mr. Suquet and my ascertainment
on the terrain of the preservation state of its vestiges following the memory duty
proposed by Mr. Suquet.
