ABSTRACT: Sherlock Holmes, the literary character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is used in this work to illustrate the deductive skills needed in science. Holmes’ own story is used to illustrate the use of analogy and to highlight the importance of stereoisomerism and the properties of enantiomers in medical practice.
