ABSTRACT: Since
the 1990s, private sector participation through the Public-Private Partnerships,
PPPs model has started in airport construction, modernization, and operation in
India. Major international airports like IGIA, Indira Gandhi at Delhi, CSIA
Chhatrapati Shivaji in Mumbai, Cochin at Kochi, etc., are successful examples
of PPPs implementation. This research focuses on the Indian approach of airport
privatization, with a specific case study of the privatization of the Indira
Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi. This study examines the
motivations, processes, outcomes, and associated with the privatization of
IGIA.
