ABSTRACT: In recent years, the generation of female writers who were born in the 1980s addresses the motherhood subject from a joyful perspective, including the exhausting aspects of it. This paper aims to study Daniela Rea’s text Mientras las niñas duermen [While the girls are asleep], from a feminist and gender perspective in order to point out a new perspective about the subject in Mexican literature written by women.
