ABSTRACT: From a developing economy, the impact of board
members involvement on return on equity has been analyzed. The current study
uses the correlation and regression models to analyze publicly available data
of which the sample firms were taken from 11 sectors that are quoted in the
Nigerian Stock Exchange for one financial year. Several diagnostic tests have
been applied to justify the validity of the results. The empirical
investigations reveal that two of the independent variables have significant
impact on return on equity. This research paper in its originality is the first
of its kind in a developing economy like Nigeria.
