Abstract: This paper introduces our practicing and understanding on the information security course groupconstruction of the major of information and computing science. The information security course group of themajor of information and computing science consists of the basic course sub-group, kernel course sub-groupand information technology course sub-group. The relations of the sub-groups are discussed. The basic coursesub-group offers basic knowledge and theories for the kernel course sub-group. The courses of the kernelcourse sub-group play most important roles for the theoretical and practical training of information security. The information technology course sub-group is consists of courses through that the information securityeducation runs and by that the students’ consciousness of information security is trained. And then, we pointout methods course group construction and teaching reform related to information security. Our practiceproved that the construction of information security course group is an effective way for the major of informationand computing science to promote students’ consciousness and ability of information security.
