Abstract: This paper presents a network storage model based on grid technology named PC-GS. It has the advantage of combining both computing and storage abilities. PC-GS extends RAID concept of traditional computer architecture to network environment. An effective access method appropriate to grid environment is proposed, which is writing in mirror and reading in single. A strategy of mapping virtual grid address to physical address is also presented, which can assure of information load balance in storage. The concept of the PC-GS can make the system with the properties of computability, reliability, scalability and reasonable utility of exist PC resources.
