Research on Innovation of Junior Middle School PE Teaching Mode Based on WeChat Platform

Abstract

Junior middle school physical education is an essential teaching project, physical education can maintain a healthy state of mind, improve confidence and values, enhance the spirit of sports, improve the overall physical quality. The teaching effect has a great influence on students, from small to sports skills, to the physical and mental development of students. With the rise of “WeChat platform teaching model”, many experts began to carry out certain studies in some schools and achieved certain results. Most of the teaching modes with the help of “WeChat platform” are based on cultural courses such as language, mathematics and English, and there are few cases of using it in physical education teaching mode. This study is to combine WeChat platform with junior middle school physical education, analyze the current situation of junior middle school Physical education, analyze the shortcomings of traditional junior middle school physical education teaching, and try to use modern WeChat platform to innovate teaching mode in physical education class. Literature, logical analysis and interview were used in the study. Then, according to the advantages and characteristics of WeChat platform and the research on the innovation of junior middle school PE teaching mode, a new “one-to-one teaching mode, platform group mode and program competition mode” is created to stimulate students’ enthusiasm and achieve certain teaching objectives. Through analysis and research, it is concluded that: 1) Junior high school students have a high acceptance of this teaching mode on WeChat platform. Improving students’ attitude towards sports can fully mobilize their enthusiasm and active participation in learning. 2) The new sports teaching mode on WeChat platform increases the interaction between teachers and students and improves students’ mastery of sports skills. 3) It is feasible to use the sports teaching mode of WeChat platform.

1. Introduction

1.1. The Purpose and Significance of the Topic

1.1.1. Research Purpose

Through understanding, it is found that the traditional teaching mode still exists in middle school PE class, which leads that the majority of students do not like PE class. In order to stimulate students’ interest, the diversified functions of the network WeChat platform are utilized to establish a new sports teaching mode, so that students are more enthusiastic in participating in sports and have more frequent teacher-student interaction. In order to attract students to participate in sports actively, students’ physical quality has been developed in all aspects, and develop students’ lifelong sports consciousness.

The purpose of the research on the innovation of new teaching mode for junior middle school students based on WeChat platform is as follows:

First of all, through the application of WeChat platform to try to improve the sports learning ability of junior high school students, change the traditional sports teaching form, make up for the shortcomings of physical education teachers in class.

Secondly, with the aid of WeChat platform, improve the physical education teaching idea, to create a new “one to one teaching mode” and “platform team teaching mode” game “program”, highlight the new teaching concept “based on students’ development”, the sports classroom teaching quality has improved, team competition consciousness is also in constant growth.

Thirdly, through the advantages of the new physical education teaching mode, the classroom efficiency is optimized, which is conducive to auxiliary teaching and improves students’ self-controlled learning ability and subject status.

1.1.2. Theoretical Significance

With the development of information network and teaching resources, the level of school teaching technology is constantly improving, and teachers should constantly enrich their knowledge reserve in the way of students’ learning needs. Therefore, teachers should continue to learn, improve their professional skills, learn new teaching methods, so that students know more about sports knowledge. Junior middle school sports learning can also try WeChat platform to assist students in learning, to improve the purpose of students’ physique. Therefore, the study of WeChat platform in junior middle school sports teaching mode innovation research has the following significance;

1) The application of sports teaching in junior middle school based on WeChat platform breaks the traditional sports teaching mode and is an auxiliary means of sports classroom teaching, so as to solve the difficulties encountered by PE teachers in class and the communication problems between students.

2) The WeChat public platform was applied to the online sports teaching of junior high school to expand and deepen the sports classroom model of junior high school. According to the actual situation of the sports teaching of Li Da Junior High school, the research was conducted from the perspective of communication, and the problems such as lack of innovation in the classroom and lack of active classroom atmosphere in the sports teaching of Li Da Junior High School were solved.

3) On the WeChat platform, students can watch videos of sports teaching competitions, learn related sports content, find their problems in sports learning, and ask questions to the physical education teacher on the WeChat platform. The teacher answers the questions in time, enhancing the interaction between teachers and students. Teachers can not only show the physical education teaching video to students, but also send the wrong movement skills, skills improvement methods and sports safety precautions to students, which is of great significance for the overall development of students.

1.1.3. Practical Significance

To become an excellent PE educator, on the one hand, we should establish lifelong PE learning belief, constantly update different teaching ideas, learn more teaching skills, on the other hand, actively carry out new teaching reform, dare to use new technology. This study has practical significance for teachers to guide students to participate in PE learning.

In the traditional PE class of Lida Middle School, students’ mastery of technology is evaluated as the main indicators of classroom achievements, while teachers’ teaching methods to guide students to use correct methods are not paid attention to. Such teaching mode is very unfavorable to the development of junior high school students. Therefore, grasp the teaching mode, use WeChat public platform to create new junior high school physical education teaching mode, change students main position in the traditional teaching mode, will grow as the main target, the healthy development of students and enhance students in sports performance, try to avoid sports injury, achieve WeChat classroom education organic unity.

In the study, a new physical education teaching model was created on the WeChat platform, the overall physical education learning resources were designed and posted to WeChat, and a WeChat group learning group was established to monitor the learning effect. WeChat platform plays a certain role in promoting sports learning attitude, emotional performance and cooperation of junior middle school students. In a word, this study has certain practical reference significance for the development of physical education teaching model in the field of mobile learning of physical education in the future.

1.2. Research Status at Home and Abroad

Luo Dunxiong published the sports journal based on WeChat platform model and mentioned that “Improvement of sports teaching Mode Based on smart mobile WeChat platform” is a temporary new start. This teaching mode can also improve the quality of sports teaching class. School activities also play a positive role in promoting.

Teachers can send the prepared teaching content and teaching videos directly to the WeChat platform before class.

Zhang Jianfeng’s “Application research on WeChat Platform in Sports University” describes the teaching mode of traditional sports schools, the use of new teaching methods, the development of sports courses on WeChat platform as a means to make up for the teaching of micro class, and in improving the research on sports teaching technology, he thinks it is feasible to use sports WeChat platform

In 2019, Li Na used Public WeChat to Improve Physical Education Teaching Practice in Junior High School, and concluded that using WeChat public platform teaching mode can significantly improve students’ interest in learning physical education, make students’ skills and movements more standardized and improve their physical coordination [1].

The sports model, first developed by Siddentop of Ohio State College, has widespread markets in the United States, Australia and Europe. This model describes the application and exploration of physical education teaching model, and also mentions that physical education teaching model can borrow other platforms for teaching [2].

In foreign studies, some terms related to “micro course” include Minicourse, Microlecture, Microlesson, etc., but their research orientation toward “micro course” is not completely the same. For example, miniature course was first proposed by the Affiliated School of Iowa University in 1960, which can also be called a short course or course unit. MicroLESSONS, a research project carried out by the Ministry of Education of Singapore in 1998, involves many courses. Its main purpose is to train teachers to construct micro courses, which are generally 30 minutes to 1 hour long. The teaching objective is simple and focused, and the creation of learning situations, resources and activities is emphasized, so as to provide effective learning scaffolding for students. At the same time, a series of scaffolds are provided for teachers to help them carry out specific teaching design [3]. In the fall of 2008, DavidPenrose, the “one-minute professor” at SAN Juan College in new Mexico, made a name for himself as the creator of the seminal “microlectures,” a series of one-minute videos that require teachers to tie content closely to teaching goals, to produce a “more focused learning experience”. It can be seen that foreign countries pay more and more attention to the research of “micro course” and “micro video”, but their core components are not uniform, some are teaching plan type, some are video type: In the United States “Physical education Teaching model research”, proposed the bridge of communication PE sports, the development of American school physical education mentioned the students’ physical and mental development of the teaching theory and practice, advocate physical education teaching model to meet the needs of students’ body and the necessary conditions of teachers.

1.3. Personal Opinion

To sum up: WeChat platform communication has become an important tool in today’s social life, WeChat platform can be real-time text, graphics, voice and video, so that people’s communication, interaction and exchange become convenient. Therefore, physical education teachers can create a new teaching mode of junior middle school with the help of WeChat platform, which can attract students’ interest in learning and improve the quality of classroom teaching [4]. In addition, in this epidemic situation, many primary schools, junior high schools, high schools and universities have started online teaching, which shows that online teaching has been widespread in our lives, and further shows that online teaching is convenient and feasible to a certain extent.

2. Research Object and Method

According to the purpose of this research, through the hunan Institute of Science and Technology library, China National Knowledge Network, Baidu and other network resources, and also refer to the relevant books, books, magazines and other materials. In the process, I collected and analyzed major data with keywords such as “WeChat”, “physical education teaching mode” and “innovation research”.

2.2.2. Logical Analysis

2.2.3. Interview Method

Due to the novel Coronavirus outbreak, face-to-face interviews in schools are not possible, so interviews are conducted online instead. First of all, we talked with junior middle school students and interviewed them about whether they play mobile phones at home in normal times and whether they learn and exchange sports competition knowledge related to interview method on WeChat platform software. Then we summarized the interview materials and consulted the teachers of physical education teaching theory in Hunan University of Science and Technology about the problems related to physical education teaching mode. Finally, I put forward my own opinions on the PE teaching mode of junior middle school students on WeChat platform, and talked with relevant teachers about some opinions and suggestions on the PE teaching mode of junior middle school students on WeChat platform.

3. Related Concepts and Theories

3.1. Functions and Advantages of WeChat

3.1.1. Functions of WeChat

As a brand new communication tool, WeChat creates an acquaintance relationship field for rapid information dissemination, realizing information sharing based on “moments of friends” and constructing specific social significance. At present, the research on WeChat in China can be roughly divided into three aspects: the first is the research on WeChat itself, focusing on the analysis of its attributes, characteristics and advantages in communication. The second is the research on the function and influence of WeChat, which mainly analyzes the social function and influence of WeChat communication. Academic researches mainly start from positive and negative aspects. Thirdly, application research based on WeChat platform [5]. The research of this paper is mainly to combine WeChat platform with junior middle school physical education teaching, analyze the current situation of junior middle school PHYSICAL education, analyze the shortcomings of traditional junior middle school PHYSICAL education teaching, and try to use modern WeChat platform to innovate teaching mode in physical education class. Literature, logical analysis and interview were used in the study. Then, according to the advantages and characteristics of WeChat platform and the research on the innovation of junior middle school PE teaching mode, a new “one-to-one teaching mode, platform group mode and program competition mode” is created to stimulate students’ enthusiasm and achieve certain teaching objectives. A brief description is made of the combination of WeChat functions and physical education teaching, while other functions of WeChat are not described.

1) Platform teaching function: Teachers can timely conduct online teaching through voice, video and pictures on WeChat platform, and observe the specific situation of students’ learning in the video.

2) WeChat mini program: through “long press to identify the 2-dimensional code can enter the mini program” ability. After testing by Tencent Technology, this function can be used on iOS and Android. If you cannot open it normally, please update WeChat to the latest version [6].

3) Micro channel small program: can “long press can enter two-dimensional code recognition small application”, Tencent science and technology test, this function can be used in every smartphone, if the normal search cannot be found, then to update the latest WeChat version.

3.1.2. Advantages of WeChat Platform

WeChat platform with text, pictures, video, voice and other social activities, with fast update, quick reply, cross-platform, mobile communication at any time, so that teachers and students in the process of using more convenient. Teachers can learn, interact and communicate with students through WeChat platform. For example: PE teachers can establish a group platform to release concerned about current events or stars and other video release knowledge or students interested in current events student video game platform release, let the class students discuss, learn from each other, common progress, interaction will be very good. In this way, the network platform of WeChat is used to support the teaching of new teaching concepts and methods for effective teaching.

1) The platform is convenient to use

The WeChat public platform is very convenient for both teachers and students. Through the establishment of the public account, teachers can make their own different physical education courseware or upload their own class content. Relevant data will be displayed on the WeChat platform. At this time, students pay attention to the public account of the WeChat platform, see the relevant knowledge of sports in WeChat, and create a WeChat signal by searching the public attention number or scanning the TWO-DIMENSIONAL code. After following, students can see the main knowledge learned on that day every day. Students can open the WeChat public platform for learning at any time and place.

2) Effective interaction between teachers and students

WeChat platform has a good communication function. After teachers release teaching content, students can receive relevant knowledge theories at any time. Students can consult teachers at any time if they don’t understand questions through the platform, and teachers can answer them in time to enhance the interaction between teachers and students. These students’ questions are answered, which promotes the relationship between teachers and students, and enhances the interaction and individuality between teachers and students.

3) It can have better service functions

Through the “mini program” search for a variety of other learning software, not only will there be a variety of theoretical topics brush, but also for enhancing the mastery of all levels of learning games, is a great learning resource feature.

4) Improve the development stage of PE teachers

Physical education teachers collect, analyze and sort out materials related to sports and use them on WeChat public platform, which is also a kind of learning in the whole operation process. Therefore, WeChat platform provides a new learning platform for physical education teachers and opens up a new path for the professional development of physical education teachers.

3.2. Concept of Physical Education Teaching Model

Physical education teaching mode refers to the relatively stable structure and procedure of physical education teaching activities established under the guidance of certain teaching ideas or teaching theories.

1) Stratified teaching mode, group teaching according to different bases, group teaching according to the number of students, gender, etc.

2) Learning and guiding teaching mode, learning theories and methods first, and then practicing.

3) Cooperative teaching mode, assigning tasks and goals, requiring students to work together to complete tasks.

4) Situational teaching mode, using plot design or introduction of stories to stimulate students’ interest and desire to learn.

5) Competition teaching mode, organizing competitions and games to increase interest and promote beneficial competition [7].

4. Effective Combination of WeChat Platform and Junior Middle School Physical Education Teaching Model

4.1. With the Help of WeChat Platform, Effectively Improve the Concept of Physical Education

4.1.2. Build a Real-Time Communication and Evaluation Platform

Nowadays, with the fast pace of life, neither teachers nor parents can spare too much time for one-to-one communication and individual exchange of students’ homework. PE homework completion quality feedback has become a difficult problem, and WeChat provides a free chat environment and real-time message. Teachers can communicate with parents in a timely manner. Teachers can send students’ classroom exercises to WeChat groups through pictures and videos. Parents can also report the quality of students’ homework to teachers through WeChat group in a timely manner. Through the real-time communication of WeChat group, the harmonious connection between teachers and parents has been established.

4.2. Create a New Teaching Model with the Help of WeChat Platform

4.2.1. One-to-One Teaching Mode Based on WeChat Platform

In the middle school sports classroom teaching mode, most of the middle school schools are traditional sports teaching. More attention is paid to cultural research, ignoring the importance of physical education, coupled with a large number of cultural courses, less physical education courses, each student absorption degree is not the same. Therefore, the difference between teaching and training students in class cannot be reflected in sports [9]. In this case, students cannot achieve better development, but this problem can be solved by using the teaching mode of WeChat platform. Teachers send sports knowledge, sports videos and key points of physical exercise content to students through WeChat, and provide targeted online guidance to students. Many parents are worried about their children’s physical and mental health development and fear that their children will have unforgettable thoughts, while the independent WeChat platform communication ability establishes a very good private chat record. When students ask questions, they can keep students’ privacy confidential to avoid other students to know and have opinions on themselves, which also solves students’ most concerned problems and protects students’ self-esteem. This teaching mode has a deep understanding of students’ interests and hobbies, and can better discover students with sports talent, cultivate the close relationship between teachers and students, change students’ attitude towards sports and improve their enthusiasm in sports learning [4].

4.2.2. Group Teaching Mode Based on WeChat Platform

Grouping students according to their teaching interests, it can improve the activity of sports students and turn each student from “I want to learn” to “I want to learn”. More specifically, the physical education teacher can group the students into groups in a voluntary way, or according to the sports level of the students’ hobby groups (such as basketball group, football group). Each sports team members can learn together, progress together, promote the relationship between students, but also can share more sports learning resources, at the same time for sports related knowledge and information to discuss learning, it can help students love sports. In addition, in the whole physical education teaching process, the physical education teacher can choose a leader of the PHYSICAL education class on behalf of all students to establish a public WeChat signal, and regularly maintain the WeChat signal, in this kind of teaching sports team teaching, the physical education teacher to guide. Add the identity of participants in each group so that students become the subject of the learning activities. The public WeChat of each sports team can send sports, sports information, sports news and other theoretical knowledge to each team member every week, fully reflecting the development of each student. Sports team members can share their ideas and learning achievements through WeChat. Finally, the teacher summarizes and sums up. The group chat advantage of WeChat platform can effectively expand after-school knowledge, which can make the sports group more stable, make the learning atmosphere between students more thick, students’ understanding of knowledge more thorough, and can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of students to learn sports. Based on the ideas of the sports group after learning on WeChat platform, each student can say his or her own harvest and opinions, and participate in the discussion of classroom learning. The physical education teacher supervises and manages the whole process. Let every student have the possibility to become the main body of physical education teaching mode, can effectively stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning sports, physical exercise.

4.2.3. Group Learning Teaching Mode Based on WeChat Platform

Junior high school students are in the most critical period of their life. They are rebellious and ill-disciplined, so they can use the characteristics of students to create various sports competition mini programs on WeChat platform. Such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, teachers can lead students to “play” games, but also into the students to go, students learn sports knowledge. This is not only conducive to cultivating students’ innovative spirit and creativity, but also can improve their interest in learning and the quality of learning, better PHYSICAL education becomes a paradise for students to learn. In a word, sports competition games are the most popular items among junior high school students, with rich and colorful contents that can attract their attention. In the process of sports competition, students will concentrate on physical exercise, so that their intelligence can be developed and their basic hands-on ability can be improved [10]. Students experience the real fun in the program games, and gradually change their attitude towards PHYSICAL education, and gradually like physical education courses.

5. Innovation and Main Contribution of This Study

There is a common problem in today’s society. Many students “like sports rather than physical education”. Physical education is controlled by teachers, which is boring. Therefore, in traditional physical education, many junior middle school students like playing ball, chatting and playing games with their classmates. The innovation of this study is to create a new physical education teaching mode with the help of WeChat platform, which can not only make students feel the fun of sports in various sports competition programs, but also make students obtain a personal sense of achievement in physical education learning, which has an unexpected effect on improving students’ enthusiasm to participate in physical education.

Physical education consists of classroom teaching and after-school sports activities. If teachers want to achieve certain teaching objectives and effects, it is an essential link for students’ guidance and communication. Junior high school students are in a rebellious period. Many students hide their thoughts in their hearts and dare not communicate face to face with their teachers. The “one-to-one teaching mode” of WeChat platform can help middle school students from dare to dare to open their hearts. The most important thing is that WeChat platform can help students study independently in their spare time and help them meet difficulties in learning. Teachers use WeChat platform to give online guidance to students and make targeted sports training plans. They can also participate in extracurricular sports teaching, so as to improve teaching quality and level.

Physical education class is highly practical, and traditional physical education teaching is mainly completed by teachers’ demonstration and explanation and students’ imitation [11]. Physical education is taught indoors and outdoors, except in rainy weather. Therefore, after teaching, students only have a visual impression of the teacher’s technical action demonstration, without specific notes, and slowly students will forget or even forget the sports action skills they have learned. Through group-assisted teaching on WeChat platform, PE teachers and students are voluntarily combined into multiple sports teams, or the class is divided into multiple sports teams. In class, students should be as the main body as possible to improve students’ initiative. At this time, the teacher will learn the sports knowledge video to students, visual teaching, consolidate knowledge and skills. At the same time, teachers can also create WeChat public account, which is maintained and managed by the sports committee. Every student can send sports knowledge, sports competition videos, news hot spots and so on to the sports committee and upload them to the WeChat public account, so as to strengthen the self-control of students and change the status of students from passive to active.

6. Limitations of This Study

The focus of this paper is to create a new “one to one” teaching mode, “platform group” teaching mode, “program competition game” teaching mode, updating teaching form, broke the traditional teaching, further enrich the junior middle school teaching mode and catch the eye of the students, thus, improve students’ attitude to physical education learning and exercise. The new teaching mode of online and offline teaching interaction and QE-answering between students and teachers are realized through WeChat platform, which can timely solve students’ learning difficulties, help improve students’ mastery of theoretical knowledge and promote junior middle school students’ application of sports skills. At the same time, WeChat helps the teaching between teachers and students to be closer to the psychological distance between students, in order to provide an effective way of teaching. The application of WeChat assisted teaching in junior middle school is a very effective teaching method. WeChat platform is convenient for communication, effective and high utilization rate. It provides students with new learning methods, and it is also the PPT used daily by junior middle school students, which has certain feasibility. Through information feedback, this teaching mode has been unanimously recognized by teachers and students.

At the same time, research has certain limitations, in real life teaching, is to teach face-to-face with people. Teaching is under certain educational objectives, teachers have certain teaching plans, impart knowledge theory to students, and develop their own Chile and physical strength. The teaching and learning of teaching must be guided by teachers to achieve good teaching results. In short, although the WeChat platform is good, it is an auxiliary teaching, cannot replace the real manual teaching. After all, WeChat platform teaching is network teaching, and now the network is more and more developed, there is a lot of bad information. Therefore, PE teachers should pay attention to whether it is beneficial to the growth of students when sending sports knowledge, and also pay attention to the time in the teaching process, so as to avoid students’ long time network learning and addiction to mobile phones and computers, resulting in the impact on learning. “Practice is the only standard to study truth”, practice has direct practical results. If the new teaching mode is not applied in practice, it cannot be ruled out whether it will affect students’ learning. The research should be implemented into the daily teaching process, the teaching mode should be improved in practice, and the solution should be corrected in time when problems occur.
