Special Issue on Towards Improving Quality of Health Care

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients (adults and children) and their families who are facing problems associated with life-threatening illness. It prevents and relieves suffering through the early identification, correct assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, whether physical, psychosocial or spiritual. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of Towards Improving Quality of Health Care.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore Towards Improving Quality of Health Care. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Nursing care for children with palliative care needs
• Effectiveness of nursing intervention for increasing hope in patients with cancer
• Experience of palliative care nurses who work with oncology patients
• Spiritual aspect of palliative care from the perspectives of patients, family members, nurses and other health professionals.
• The impact of palliative care nursing on quality of life of patients with palliative care needs
• Equity and access to palliative care nursing
• Safety in palliative care nursing
• Perceived quality of nursing care among cancer patients
• Communication with patients with palliative care needs from the perspectives of nurses, physicians and families.
• The educational needs of nurses in palliative care 
• The role of palliative care nurses in pain and symptom management
• Palliative care nursing in the emergency department
• Nursing leadership in palliative care
• Ethical issues in palliative care nursing
• Palliative care nursing in different contexts
