Special Issue on Surface Physics

Surface Physics is the study of physical phenomena that occur at the interface of two phases. Theses interfaces can include solid-liquid interface, solid-liquid interface, solid-gas interfaces, solid-vacuum interfaces as well as liquid-gas interfaces.  

The surface physics has already well related to subjects like metallurgy, material science, semiconductor physics, catalysis, vacuum physics. The study methods and devices that involved in the surface physics are associated with a wide range of theory and technology. Therefore, the study on surface physics is important and significant.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring surface physics. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Surface state
• Contact and interferences between close surfaces
• Mechanics of contact
• Stress fields and surface effects
• Tribological problems
• Three-dimensional coupling
• Three-dimensional and edge effects
• Surface treatment to improve the fatigue strength
• Surface diffusion
• Surface enhanced Raman scattering

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Surface Physics” should be chosen during your submission.
