Special Issue on Plant Breeding Technology

New Plant-Breeding Techniques (NBTs) are methods allowing the development of new plant varieties with desired traits, by modifying the DNA of the seeds and plant cells. They are called ‘new’ because these techniques have only been developed in the last decade and have evolved rapidly in recent years. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of Plant Breeding Technology.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore Plant Breeding Technology. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Efficiency of breeding techniques
  • Diversification through breeding
  • Selective breeding
  • Heterosis breeding; Mutagenesis breeding
  • Backcrossing or introgression breeding
  • Marker assisted selection
  • Reverse breeding and doubled haploids (DH)
  • Genetic modification
  • Molecular breeding
  • Role of plant breeding in organic agriculture

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Plant Breeding Technology” should be selected during your submission.
