Special Issue on Research on Geomorphology
Geomorphology is the scientific study of landforms and the processes that shape them. Geomorphologists seek to understand why landscapes look the way they do, to understand landform history and dynamics and to predict changes through a combination of field observations, physical experiments and numerical modeling. Geomorphology is practiced within physical geography, geology, geodesy, engineering geology, archaeology and geotechnical engineering. This broad base of interest contributes to many research styles and interests within the field. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of research on geomorphology.
In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore research on geomorphology. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Ancient geomorphology
-
Early modern geomorphology
-
Quantitative geomorphology
-
Contemporary geomorphology
-
Hillslope processes
-
Overlap with other fields
-
Scales in geomorphology
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue’’ under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Research on Geomorphology” should be chosen during your submission.
