Special Issue on Geographic Information System

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographical data. The acronym GIS is sometimes used for geographical information science or geospatial information studies to refer to the academic discipline or career of working with geographic information systems and is a large domain within the broader academic discipline of Geoinformatics. In the simplest terms, GIS is the merging of cartography, statistical analysis, and computer science technology. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of geographic information system.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore geographic information system. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Spatial data infrastructure
• Applications of geographic information system
• Relating information from different sources
• GIS techniques and technology
• GIS uncertainties
• Data representation
• Spatial analysis with GIS

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
