 Special Issue on Systems Biology

This special issue on Systems Biology will be focusing on the latest development in biomedical and biological scientific research. Systems biology is a biology-based inter-disciplinary field of study that focuses on complex interactions within biological systems, using a more holistic perspective (holism instead of the more traditional reductionism) approach to biological and biomedical research. Particularly from year 2000 onwards, the concept has been used widely in the biosciences in a variety of contexts. One of the outreaching aims of systems biology is to model and discover emergent properties, properties of cells, tissues and organisms functioning as a system whose theoretical description is only possible using techniques which fall under the remit of systems biology. As one of the most important research fields of human life, systems biology is of great attractions to researchers.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring systems biology. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Biomedical science research
  • Biological science research
  • Cell signaling networks
  • Metabolic networks
  • Integration biology
  • System-wide biology
  • Systems microbiology

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the Special Issue’’ under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Systems Biology” should be chosen during your submission.
