 Special Issue on Diarrhea and Diarrhea Associated Disease

 

Diarrhea means the condition of having loose, watery stools more than three times in one day. Causes of diarrhea include bacteria, viruses or parasites, certain medicines, food intolerances and diseases that affect the stomach, small intestine or colon, while the most common cause is gastroenteritis. Although usually not harmful, the loss of fluids through diarrhea still can cause dehydration and electrolyte disturbances such as potassium deficiency or other salt imbalances, which can be very dangerous even fetal especially in children; and diarrhea also can become a signal of a more serious problem, such diarrhea associated disease including Inflammatory diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, Ulcerative colitis and etc. Diarrhea is a common cause of death in developing countries and the second most common cause of infant deaths worldwide. Diarrhoea and Diarrhea associated disease is an important health problems around the world.

 

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring Diarrhea and Diarrhea Associated Disease. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Secretory diarrhea
  • Osmotic diarrhea
  • Exudative diarrhea
  • Motility-related diarrhea
  • Inflammatory diarrhea
  • Inflammatory bowel disease 
  • Crohn's disease  
  • Ulcerative coliti

 

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.
