Special Issue on Medicinal Plants
Plants have been used for medicinal purposes long
before prehistoric period. Traditional systems of medicine continue to be
widely practised on many accounts. Population rise, inadequate supply of drugs,
prohibitive cost of treatments, side effects of several synthetic drugs and
development of resistance to currently used drugs for infectious diseases have
led to increased emphasis on the use of plant materials as a source of
medicines for a wide variety of human ailments. The goal of this special issue
is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to
promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of medicinal plants.
In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and
authors to submit original research and review articles that explore medicinal plants. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not
