Special Issue on COVID-19 and Public Health

COVID-19, also known as 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease and novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), is an infectious disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). It was first detected during the 2019–20 Wuhan coronavirus outbreak. It results in flu-like symptoms, including fever, coughing, shortness of breath, pain in the muscles and tiredness. It may result in pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis and septic shock, and possible death. The outbreak was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in January 2020 and a pandemic in March 2020.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on COVID-19 and Public Health. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnosis and treatment
  • Clinical management
  • Epidemiological research
  • Molecular pathology
  • Virology
  • Preventive measures
  • Outbreak control and risk assessment
  • Testing and statistics
  • Immune response and immunity
  • Complications and associated diseases

  • Transmission and risk factors
  • Public awareness and global health concern

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – COVID-19 and Public Health should be chosen during your submission.
