Special Issue on Ceramic Materials and Technology
A ceramic
is an inorganic compound, non-metallic, solid material comprising metal,
non-metal or metalloid atoms primarily held in ionic and covalent bonds.
Ceramic materials may have a crystalline or partly crystalline structure, with
long-range order on atomic scale. The special character of ceramic materials
gives rise to many applications in materials engineering, electrical
engineering, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering. As ceramics are
heat resistant, they can be used for many tasks for which materials like metal
and polymers are unsuitable. Ceramic materials are used in a wide range of
industries, including mining, aerospace, medicine, refinery, food and chemical
industries, packaging science, electronics, industrial and transmission
electricity, and guided lightwave transmission.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on ceramic materials and technology. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Ceramic engineering
-
Mechanical, electrical and optical properties
-
Ceramic under high temperature
-
Metal-ceramic composites
-
Carbon–ceramic composites
-
Polymer-derived ceramic fibers
-
Glass–ceramic coatings
-
Ceramic synthesis
-
Bioceramics
-
Ceramic membranes
-
Applications in aerospace, medicine, food, and chemical
industries
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue – Ceramic Materials and Technology” should be chosen during your submission.
