Special Issue on Adult Education and Lifelong learning  


Adult education is a practice in which adults engage in systematic and sustained self-educating activities in order to gain new forms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values. It can mean any form of learning adults engage in beyond traditional schooling, encompassing basic literacy to personal fulfillment as a lifelong learner. Lifelong learning may be broadly defined as learning that is pursued throughout life; learning that is flexible, diverse and available at different times and in different places. Lifelong learning can instill creativity, initiative and responsiveness in people thereby enhances social inclusion, active citizenship, personal fulfillment, and employability/adaptability.


In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Adult Education and Lifelong learning. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Community education
  • Professional training
  • Continuing education
  • Individual learning and self-regulated learning
  • Human resource development
  • Long-distance learning
  • Assessing and evaluating

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.


Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Adult Education and Lifelong learning” should be chosen during your submission.
