Special Issue on Algae
Algae are photosynthetic organisms that occur in most habitats. They vary from small, single-celled forms to complex multicellular forms, such as the giant kelps that grow to 65 meters in length. Microalgae are a diverse group of photosynthetic organisms with topical relevance to industrial biotechnology, biorefining and bioenergy. They possess the potential for development as expression hosts and as a source of novel enzymes and metabolic pathways with biomanufacturing potential.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring algae. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Life cycle
-
Algae-based biofuel production
-
Algae-based bioproducts
-
Algae-based bioremediation
-
Algae-based molecular biology, metabolic regulation, biodiversity
-
Algae cultivation
-
Algae harvesting, extraction and bioprospecting
-
Technoeconomic, and sustainability modeling of algal production
-
New technologies in support of algae research
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Algae” should be selected during your submission.
