Special Issue on Information Extraction and Retrieval

Information retrieval (IR) and information extraction (IE) are two main technologies used to extract information from large collections of ducuments. The goal of Information Extraction systems is to pull out information from documents by filling out predefined templates. Information Retrieval systems attempt to extract documents that best match a query. Regularly addressed issues include search, indexing, analysis, and evaluation for applications such as text archives, streaming media and social, recommender systems, and the web.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Information Extraction and Retrieval. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Theory of information extraction and retrieval
    • Experiments of information extraction and retrieval
    • Design of algorithms and processes
    • Document preparation and text processing
    • Data mining and knowledge discovery
    • Search, indexing, analysis, and evaluation
    • Data structures, cryptology and information theory
    • Natural language processing
    • Methodologies and applications

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Information Extraction and Retrieval” should be selected during your submission.
