Special Issue on
The Sacroiliac Joint: A Contemporary Perspective for Therapy & Rehabilitation
The sacroiliac joint is the joint in the bony pelvis between the sacrum and
the ilium of the pelvis. Common pathological conditions affecting the sacroiliac joint are inflammatory, mechanical,
degenerative, neoplastic and iatrogenic conditions. The mechanical condition is
usually referred to as ‘sacroiliac joint syndrome’. Injections into the SI
joint can provide both diagnosis and treatment. Physical therapy can also be
very helpful. There is no gold standard for treatment. Often the clinician uses
his/her experience in making recommendations. As lots of people suffer from SI
joint dysfunction, further study on the mechanism and treatment of SI joint dysfunction is necessary and
valuable.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and
authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring the sacroiliac joint: a contemporary perspective
for therapy & rehabilitation. Potential topics include, but are not
limited to:
-
Structure and function of sacroiliac joint
-
Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
-
Sacroiliitis
-
Causes of SI joint dysfunction
-
Symptoms and diagnosis
-
Therapy and rehabilitation
-
Anatomic and neurological analysis
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an
electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission
System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript
title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - The Sacroiliac
Joint: A Contemporary Perspective for Therapy & Rehabilitation” should be chosen during your submission.
