Advances in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Research

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of liver cancer. Most cases of HCC are secondary to either a viral hepatitis infection or cirrhosis. HCC may present with yellow skin, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or felling tired. Prognosis and treatment of HCC are mainly dependent on tumor size and staging. High-grade tumors will have a poor prognosis, while low-grade tumors may go unnoticed for many years. Getting vaccination and avoiding alcohol consumption are common methods for prevention of HCC, while, liver transplantation and surgical resection are major methods for treatment. As the high lethality of hepatocellular carcinoma, study on it is of great interest and necessity to researchers.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring advances in hepatocellular carcinoma research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Signs and symptoms
• Risk factors
• Pathology of HCC
• Diagnosis and prognosis
• Prevention and treatment
• Side effects and complication
• Epidemiology

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Advances in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Research” should be chosen during your submission.
