 Special Issue on Eating Disorders

 

More and more people all around the world are afflicted with eating disorders every year, and most of them are adolescent and young women. Rarely talked about, an eating disorder can affect up to 5 percent of the population of teenage girls. There are three main types of eating disorders: Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder. The disorders are caused by a complex interaction of social, biological and psychological factors which bring about the harmful behaviors. The important thing is to stop as soon as people recognize these behaviors in themselves or to get help to begin the road to recovery. Treatment of eating disorders nearly always includes cognitive-behavioral or group psychotherapy. Medications may also be appropriate and have been found effective in the treatment of these disorders, when combined with psychotherapy.

 

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring eating disorders. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Major kinds of eating disorders
  • Causes of eating disorders
  • People suffers from eating disorders
  • Treatment about eating disorders
  • Psycho-therapy for eating disorders
  • Tips for friends and family

 

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

 

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the re-search field “Special Issue - Eating Disorders” should be chosen during your submission.
