Special Issue on Biomineralization Research
Biomineralization is the process by which living organisms produce minerals, often to harden or stiffen existing tissues. Some kinds of biomineralization are normal physiological progress and have physiological functions, such as those occurred in the development in teeth and skeletons. Others may cause pathological changes in some certain tissues and lead to specific diseases like calcification.
Now scientists are conducting researches on biological controlled mineralization and biological induced mineralization to prevent pathological mineralization progress and to develop biomimetic materials. Biomineralization is worth studying, it will be helpful in clinic application.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring biomineralization research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Mechanisms of biomineralization
-
Physiological changes in mineralized tissues
-
Pathological changes in mineralized tissues
-
Physiological function of biomineralization
-
Mineralization related diseases
-
Biological controlled mineralization
-
Biological induced mineralization
-
Biomineralization and biomimetic materials
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Biomineralization Research” should be chosen during your submission.
