Special Issue on
Artificial Intelligence and
Fuzzy Systems - Theory and Applications
Artificial intelligence is a
wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines
capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. The
increase in artificial intelligence studies shows that the use of artificial
intelligence in computer science, information engineering, mathematics,
psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and many other fields will increase in the
coming years. Artificial intelligence technology offers new design approaches
for solving some challenging problems that, until recently, were considered
intractable.
Fuzzy systems are essential
methods in artificial intelligence that can be applied to solve complex
real-world problems. Real-world problems often involve complexity, noisy
environment, imprecision, and vagueness. It is usually difficult to solve such
problems by traditional analytical and numerical paradigms. The fuzzy set
theory will be a good solution to these obscurity situations and can be used in
circumstances where conventional approaches fail to solve a problem effectively.
This
special issue offers a special opportunity for researchers to make useful
exchange of ideas and original research findings in fuzzy systems and
artificial intelligence and their potential applications in a wide range of
