Special Issue on
LGBT Community and Health
People who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or
transgender are diverse, coming from various races, ethnicities, and
socioeconomic statuses. They sometimes face unique health care risks besides
the usual ones that affect most men and women. They are at the higher risk of
depression, substance abuse, breast cancer, HIV and other sexually transmitted
infections. Further research is needed to fully evaluate the health care issues
facing this population.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring LGBT Community and Health. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Depression and suicide
-
Mental healthcare
-
Physical healthcare
-
Sex reassignment surgery
-
HIV among gay and bisexual men
-
Health issues for lesbians
-
Substance misuse
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic
copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - LGBT
Community and Health” should be selected during your submission.
