    Special Issue on Neonatal Medicine

    Neonatal medicine is a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborn. It is a hospital-based specialty, and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). The principal patients of neonatologists are newborn infants who are ill or require special medical care due to prematurity, low birth weight, intrauterine growth restriction, congenital malformations , sepsis, pulmonary hypoplasia or birth asphyxia.

    In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Neonatal Medicine. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Neonatal intensive care
    • Neonatal screening and care
    • Neonatal and developmental medicine
    • Low birth weight infants
    • Sepsis
    • Problems and care for preterm infants
    • Infant mortality
    • Neonatal diseases and infections
    • Surgical treatment
    • Respiratory distress syndrome

    Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

    Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Neonatal Medicine” should be chosen during your submission.
