    Special Issue on Ecosystem Service Function


    Ecosystem service function is the natural environment condition and function that human beings depend on for existence formed and maintained by ecosystem and ecological process. The ability of natural processes and their components to provide products and services that meet the direct or indirect needs of mankind. When ecosystem function is endowed with the connotation of human value, it becomes an ecosystem product and service. Ecosystem services can also be summarized as benefits gained from ecosystems. The concept of ecosystem services is gradually proposed and developed with the in-depth study of ecosystem structure, function and ecological process.


    In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring Ecosystem Service Function. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Classification of ecosystem services
    • Assessment methods of ecosystem services value
    • Ecosystem services and ecological security
    • Ecological compensation
    • Ecological degradation
    • Ecological benefit
    • Ecosystem services and biodiversity

    Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.


    Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Ecosystem Service Function” should be chosen during your submission.
