Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Application

Artificial intelligence (AI, also machine intelligence, MI) is intelligence displayed by machines, in contrast with the natural intelligence (NI) displayed by humans and other animals. The overall research goal of artificial intelligence is to create technology that allows computers and machines to function in an intelligent manner. Some of the activities computers with artificial intelligence are designed for: knowledge engineering, reasoning, problem solving, perception, learning, planning, and ability to manipulate and move objects. Artificial intelligence today is properly known as narrow AI (or weak AI), in that it is designed to perform a narrow task.

In the present book, fifteen typical literatures about Artificial Intelligence and Application published on international authoritative journals were selected to introduce the worldwide newest progress, which contains reviews or original researches on robot system, medical science, computer technique, ect. We hope this book can demonstrate advances in Artificial Intelligence and Application as well as give references to the researchers, students and other related people.
