ABSTRACT: Women’s involvement in the management of water resources has the potential to generate significant societal benefits. However, their participation remains disproportionately low. This study examined the relationship between women’s educational attainment and their involvement in the management of borehole water projects in Balambala Sub-County, Garissa County, Kenya. A total of 200 women and 2 key informants were sampled. Data collection involved questionnaires for the women and interviews with the key informants. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, while qualitative data were examined thematically. The study found that 66% of respondents perceived access to education as skewed in favour of males, and 70.9% reported that educational background was a key criterion for selecting leaders in local water projects. Binary logistic regression analysis showed a statistically significant relationship between educational level and leadership participation. Respondents with secondary education were 2.4 times more likely to hold leadership roles compared to those with no formal education (OR = 2.41, P
