ABSTRACT: Smartphone has not only reduced time and spatial restrictions but also become a source of tension between romantic partners. The objective of the study is to explore how smartphone creates relational uncertainty and diminishes trust between romantic partners. Using a self-administered questionnairefrom a sample survey of 120 respondents, it is found that smartphone ismore likely to create relational uncertainty and mistrust in romantic relationships and out of this mistrust they engage in different types of surveillance activities to monitor their partner’s activities on smartphone.
