ABSTRACT: This article briefly reviews the history of coronavirus detection and states the structural characteristics and pathogenesis of the SARS-CoV-2 strain. Following the conclusion that cellular senescence is thought to contribute to SARS-CoV-2 susceptibility, this article continues to review the structure and function of telomeres. Finally, it briefly states the link between COVID-19 and telomeres caused by the SARS-CoV-2 strain.
