Abstract: |
Considering the theoretical and practical paradox of enhancing the competitiveness for firms in the global value chain, the term “supply chain automorphism” is proposed on the basis of automorphism theory. With an objective of providing a theoretical lens to show its integration and self-symmetry, this paper proposes a unified conceptual framework of supply chain automorphism and its associated definitions, hypotheses, proofs followed by discussions of two different business elements—objects versus flows. Specifically, this paper discusses applications of supply chain automorphism and then exemplifies accurate forecast and seamless link within the framework, according to the hypotheses and their characteristics mentioned before. This paper closes with insights gained from this study and extensions for future researches.
