Abstract: “Copenhagen Climate Summit” held at the end of last year symbolized the coming of low-carbon era. "Environmental protection" and "greenness" have already become the personification of fashion and tide. The textile and garment industry has greeted green revolution as well, and various new-type of green fibers have become the new favorite of textile and garment industry. Bamboo fiber is a newly kind of regenerated cellulose fiber developed again following soybean protein fiber. It not only integrates natural fiber and artificial fiber, but also possesses natural antibacterial property and environmental protection. This essay firstly analyzed the significance of development, composition structure, merits and defects of bamboo fiber, and secondly analyzed objectively the market prospect of bamboo fiber, investigated its application field and development potential, and compared with foreign research results, and finally summarized broad development prospect and good economic benefits of bamboo fiber.
