Abstract: In this paper slope erosion energy consumption of loess, black soil, purple soil and red soil preliminary studied under the same experimental condition using erosion grooves scouring experiment. Results show that good relationship happened between slope runoff erosion-sediment yield and slope erosion energy consumption. Critical energy consumption associated with slope erosion’s happening and different soil erosion needs different critical energy consumption. In this study four types of soil were selected and show that red soil consumed the highest erosion critical energy consumption, and then fallowed with purple soil、blank soil and loess.
