Abstract: Considering the various options of the arrangement of 2nd generation nuclear power technology and 3rd generation nuclear power technology development, this manuscript analyzed the varieties of possible scenario of China’s nuclear power development before 2030, and compared the economy and safety of these scenarios by key indicators such as the probability of reactor core melt accident, the probability of nuclear radiation accidents and cumulative capital investment of new built nuclear power plants. Based on the results, some policy suggestions for China’s nuclear power technology pathway before 2030 were finally concluded.
